Resource Hierarchy

Our medical content is produced and cited according to the following hierarchy of evidence:

1. International obstetrics and maternal-fetal medicine guidelines: ACOG (American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists), RCOG (Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists), NICE (National Institute for Health and Care Excellence), SMFM (Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine), WHO (World Health Organization), FIGO (International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics).
2. Continuously updated clinical decision support resources: UpToDate — primary synthesis-based collections of clinical topics.
3. Cochrane systematic reviews and other high-quality systematic reviews/meta-analyses.
4. Primary literature: high-quality randomized controlled trials (RCTs), prospective cohort studies.
5. Lower weight: cross-sectional studies, case series.

If there is a difference of opinion between authorities on a topic, each organization's recommendation is presented side by side by name (e.g. "ACOG recommendation: … / RCOG recommendation: … / WHO recommendation: …"). No single source is declared "true"; The clinician and patient evaluate within the framework of shared decision-making. UpToDate is a constantly updated primary source of synthesis, but it is not an automatic winner in the conflict between authorities.

Update Frequency

Clinical contents are reviewed at least once a year. When an update is made to the relevant international guide, the change is reflected in the relevant content on the site within 30 days. The "Last clinical update" date is clearly stated on each clinical guide and calculator page.

Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI)

AI-assisted research tools may be used to search the literature, summarize sources and prepare drafts. Our publication policy for the original Turkish medical content calls for review and approval by the physician responsible for the content before publication . Verification of AI output and comparison of calculator algorithms with guideline texts are part of this policy. The English version is translated from the Turkish source content with AI assistance ; source-text comparisons and automated checks are used. The English version has not undergone a separate, independent physician review. Where shown, clinical review dates refer to the Turkish source content; the translation date is recorded separately and does not represent a new clinical review.

Advertising and Sponsorship Policy

HeryerGebe.com does not contain advertising, sponsored content or affiliate links. There are no commercial product, brand or company referrals in calculators, clinical guides and blog posts. Necessary drug naming is done based on the generic nomenclature (active ingredient) in the guide texts.

Conflict of Interest Declaration

The content controller (Op. Dr. Cem Akaltun) has no financial ties to the pharmaceutical company, medical device company or any commercial organization that may have an interest in the site content. When the conflict of interest situation changes, it will be clearly declared on this page.
